The seven-day long Dhaka Bank 21st Bangladesh International Junior Tennis Championships 2007 (Group 3) began formally on Tuesday February 6, 2007 at the National Tennis Complex, Ramna, Dhaka. A total of 148 players including 100 boys and 48 girls from 23 countries are taking part in the tournament. The participating countries are Armenia, Belarus, Canada, China, Spain, Indonesia, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Moldova, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore, Portugal, Russia, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan and the host Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Tennis Federation in this regard organized a press conference in association with Dhaka Bank Limited at Conference Room of National Tennis Complex, Ramna, Dhaka on Sunday February 4, 2007. Mr. Shahed Noman, Managing Director, Dhaka Bank Limited, Mr. Sanaul Haque, General Secretary, Bangladesh Tennis Federation, Mr. Moshiur Rahman, Executive, Qatar Airways were present along with others.

Adviser to Caretaker Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, inaugurated the tournament, as the Chief Guest on February 6, 2007 while Mr. Khondker Fazle Rashid, Deputy Managing Director was present as Special Guest. Among others, Mr. Samiur Razzak, Sales Manager, Qatar Airways, Mr. AMM Nasir Uddin, President, Mr. Md. Sanaul Haque, General Secretary, Bangladesh Tennis Federation, Mr. Golam Hafiz Ahmed, Senior Executive Vice President and Mr. Azam Khan, Assistant Vice President (PR), Dhaka Bank Limited were present.

Mr. Anwarul Iqbal, Advisor to Caretaker Government was present on the occasion as the Chief Guest on February 11, 2007 and distributed prizes among the winners while Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Founder Chairman, Dhaka Bank Limited was present as Special Guest. Among others, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank Limited Mr. Shahed Noman, Mr. AMM Nasiruddin, President, Mr. Sanaul Haque, General Secretary, Bangladesh Tennis Federation and Mr. Arham Masudul Huq, Company Secretary, Dhaka Bank Limited were also present.
